Which inscription should I choose?

Identify the job this settler needs to do on the next run. For a frontliner, address survival first; for a regular attacker, look for an effect they can trigger consistently; for support, consider whether energy limits their useful casts.

Read the trigger and cost before choosing. A rare effect whose condition you cannot meet may help less than a simple bonus that fixes the current weakness.

For example, if your frontliner keeps falling first and the choices include maximum health and basic-attack speed, health can be the more useful pick. This is a role-based example, not a tested tier ranking.

Inscriptions, traits and skill trees

At recruitment, race, background and individual traits help shape a role. Level-up prayer is where you inspect growth results and inscription choices.

Skill trees define paths for spending skill points. Historical inscriptions include tree-granting options; if one appears in your current game, consider the equipment and skill-point commitment before taking it.

When is Retry worth using?

Read the displayed resource cost first. If a choice already solves the current problem, accepting it can preserve resources for later upgrades. Do not reroll only to chase a gold label.

If none of the choices helps the planned role, compare another roll against its cost. An exciting effect is not useful when its trigger does not fit the character.

Locking growth or inscriptions depends on difficulty: the collected official feedback announcement listed Easy/Normal support and described expansion to all difficulties as planned. Follow the buttons available in your campaign.
