FAQ
How do I follow the Dungeon Settlers main quest?
Read the objective counts on the right side of the screen, finish the current production task, then follow the next unlocked settlement or recruitment step. The current verified route reaches Wood Processing, Wood Planks, the Special build menu, and the Wooden Goddess Statue before the separate level-2 unit check.
How do I complete the first crafting main quest?
Use the Basic Workstation to craft Textile from Wild Long Grass. The current playtest showed two Wild Long Grass for one Textile; if the quest reads 4/6, queue two more Textile tasks, then handle Cloth Armor and Wooden Arrows as separate objectives.
What happens after the first main quest?
Read the Ominous Message notification. In the current playthrough it redirected the player to recruit their own party, with the Recruit button in the upper-right interface used for the next step.
How do I build the Wooden Goddess Statue?
Research Wood Processing, make 2 Wood Planks at the Wood Workbench, then open the Special build category and place the Wooden Goddess Statue. The quest also asks for two level-2 units, which is a separate condition.
Why is the main quest still incomplete after I build the statue?
Check the objective counts separately. Building the statue changes the statue count, but the “at least 2 units at level 2” count remains until two units complete their level-up requirement.
What should I do when a new main quest appears?
Read the objective list on the right side before building anything. Treat each counter as a separate check: a production count, an equipment count, a building count, or a unit-level requirement can advance independently.
Use the current objective to decide the next action, then wait for the production or research job to finish before assuming the quest is stuck. If the screen shows several counters, complete the one you can act on now and keep the others as the next checklist rather than spending materials blindly.
Current first-run main quest route
1. Start with the early production objectives. The current playthrough used a Basic Workstation to craft Textile from Wild Long Grass; one Textile used two Wild Long Grass in the observed interface.
2. If the Textile counter is already 4/6, queue two more Textile tasks. Do not treat Cloth Armor and Wooden Arrows as part of the same material count—the main quest shows them as separate objectives.
3. After the first main quest completes, read the Ominous Message instead of closing it as flavor text. In this run it moved the next decision to recruiting your own party, using the Recruit button in the upper-right interface.
4. Build the house, then build the Research Workbench and open Research. The current tree exposed Basic Cooking and Basic Agriculture; assign a Settler to the Research Workbench and wait for the progress to move before judging the research as inactive.
5. When the Cooking Workbench needs Wood Planks, research Wood Processing first. Use the Wood Workbench to craft the Planks, then return to the Cooking Workbench or the next construction objective.
6. At the current checkpoint, build the Wooden Goddess Statue through Wood Processing → Wood Planks → Special → Wooden Goddess Statue. The current build preview shows a cost of 2 Wood Planks; then track the separate requirement for two units at level 2.
How do I complete the Wooden Goddess Statue checkpoint?
First finish Wood Processing in Research. Research jobs require a Settler to work at the Research Workbench and take time; a node being visible does not mean its result is already active.
After Wood Processing completes, open the Wood Workbench and make Wood Planks. The current Wooden Goddess Statue preview requires 2 Wood Planks. Then open the build menu, switch to Special, select Wooden Goddess Statue, and place it in the settlement.
The right-side objective has another counter for “at least 2 units at level 2.” Building the statue does not by itself satisfy that counter. Send the relevant units on safe progress runs, return when their XP is full, select the unit, click the Goddess Statue, choose a prayer, select a rune/result, and press Accept; confirm the counter changes before pushing the next quest step.
Why is a main quest counter not moving?
The production counter is unchanged: open the matching workstation, confirm the exact item name, queue the missing quantity, and wait for the task to finish. Do not substitute a similarly named resource just because it looks related in the inventory.
The research branch is visible but nothing changes: assign a resident to the Research Workbench and let the progress advance. The current playtest showed Basic Agriculture at 6/268 while it was being researched.
The Wooden Goddess Statue is missing from the build menu: check the chain in order—Wood Processing research, Wood Planks at the Wood Workbench, then the Special category. Searching another dungeon floor will not replace this settlement prerequisite.
The statue counter is complete but the main quest is not: read the other counters. The two level-2 units are a separate requirement, and the exact XP/cost threshold remains tied to the current level-up interface.
What is still missing from the full main quest guide?
The current page does not claim a complete list of every later quest. The next useful screenshot is the objective panel after the Wooden Goddess Statue and two level-2 units are completed, followed by any notification or reward screen.
When you continue playing, capture the whole right-side objective panel, the relevant build or research tooltip, and the completion notification. That lets this page add the next checkpoint without turning one run into an unverified universal route.

Version note: The route below is based on current first-playthrough UI and observations. The current playtest shows that the Wooden Goddess Statue costs 2 Wood Planks; level-up costs, later objectives, and rewards are still version-sensitive or not yet captured.
